Clinical Biostatistics and Epidemiology Made Ridiculously Simple 2nd Edition

This book is a brief, intuitive approach to clinical biostatistics, not just to pass the "next test," but also to improve patient care by assisting practitioners in evaluating medical literature. Physicians and other health care practitioners shoud not only understand a reserach paper's Abstract and Conclusions sections, but also the Materials and Methods sections. This requires understanding of key biostatistics concepts and the pitfalls of biostatistics. In evaluating research, the practitioner needs to ask these four questions: 1. Is this the best research design (prospective, retrospective study, etc.)? 2. Is this the best statistical test to analyze the data (t-test, ANOVA, etc.)? 3. What do the results mean (mean, median, mode, standard deviation, SEM, confidence limits, p-values, F statistic, chi-square, etc.)? 4. Are the researchers' conclusions correct? This book contains the most important points in clinical biostatistics, presented with clinical examples and clear approach to interpreting research papers.
